A highway worker was struck along I-97 in Maryland early Wednesday morning after a Mercedes slammed into another car and veered into an active construction zone, according to Maryland State Police.
At approximately 12:45 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 7, troopers were called to the northbound lanes of I-97 near Route 32 in Anne Arundel County, where crews were working behind a lane closure.

A Butler County, Pennsylvania man has been indicted on a federal firearms charge tied to an alleged plan to support ISIS, prosecutors announced Tuesday, Oct. 6.
Jonathan Hunter Kramer, 21, of Valencia, knowingly received a semiautomatic rifle and rifle ammunition on Saturday, Sept. 12, knowing they would be used to commit a felony or federal terrorism crime, including supporting ISIS, a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh charged.
Kramer remains detained pending trial. The one-count indictment carries a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, or both.
