78-Year-Old Nassau Pedestrian Killed By Driver High On Coke And Weed, Authorities Say
A Long Island man was high on cocaine and marijuana when he killed an elderly woman in a car crash earlier this year, authorities said Thursday, Sept. 3.
Niall Duignan, 24, of Oceanside, was indicted Thursday on nine charges in the crash that killed Patricia Pfaus, 78, in Oceanside, the Nassau County District Attorney’s office said.
Cops initially said Pfaus was seriously injured in the collision at Weidner Avenue and Long Beach Road on Thursday, June 18, but she has since died from her injuries, according to the DA’s office and an obituary from Torres Funeral Home.

Nazi-Like Halloween Costume Pulled From Amazon, Target, Walmart
Several major retailers removed a Halloween costume from their websites because it resembled uniforms worn by Nazi soldiers.
Amazon, Target, and Walmart have pulled the "German Army Soldier Adult Costume," which was sold by Orion Costumes. The costume included a jacket, trousers with attached boot covers, a belt, and a hat, with many online noting that the outfit is similar to German military uniforms from World War II.

Joy Behar took a steep discount to finally offload her Hamptons mansion.
Behar, the 83-year-old co-host of “The View,” sold her Sag Harbor property for $5.65 million — just more than half the initial $10.95 million asking price — on Thursday, Aug. 28, Realtor.com reported.

A Long Island man admitted to murdering his estranged mother-in-law on Thursday, Sept. 3, authorities said.
Erick Corado Gonzalez, 29, of Glen Cove, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder for stabbing 51-year-old Ana Espinoza to death outside a restaurant in September 2024, the Nassau County District Attorney’s office said.
Gonzalez was estranged from his wife and her family at the time and was not invited to the wife’s birthday celebration on Sept. 28, 2024, at La Candela II restaurant in West Hempstead, investigators said.
